Question for you regular travellers to Florida!

DH and I have booked most of our holiday now, we got a Savannah view at AKL for 2 nights, 8 nights at POFQ and 1 week in a villa, booked all our ADR's, Universal pass etc. What we don't have yet is our flights!!!

Normally I wouldn't be panicking as so many airlines fly to Orlando, but seeing as we need to fly mid-week that only leaves us BA and Virgin for direct flights. Right now, flights are around £1300 for 2 economy seats.

Do you reckon there might be a seat sale at some point before the end of summer for flights to Orlando? Or do you think i've missed these sales already and will need to pay that amount? Have any of you held out until summer for good seat sales in September?

We know we can fly with the American airlines cheaper but those aren't direct flights so are a bit more inconvenient (but we'll use them if those prices don't go down!).

Thanks Paul, I have looked into the charters but unfortunately most only fly out on Fridays/Saturdays and I need to fly out on a Wednesday and stay for 17 nights.

I'll keep an eye out though, it might work out cheaper to go for 3 weeks (any excuse to stay longer!)

To be honest even if you get a deal on 21 nights your chances are that you will still need to take Scheduled flights anyway,we struggled with our flights for this Sept because we could only fly out on a Tuesday. Will the prices come down,it depends on where you can fly out from,there seems to be more deals if you can fly out from London but the way the fuel prices are going I would expect prices to rise as opposed to going down!
