I have a nice photo of the UK area in EPCOT, but one part of the picture is completely blown out. I am trying to selectively knock down the exposure on this part, but I am having a terrible time figuring out how to do this.
I am selecting the part of the picture I want (coloring it "green" with the pen, and selecting + so that I change only that part of the picture). But when I go to do anything, the whole darn rest of the picture changes as well, and I don't want that.
What am I missing here?
THanks in advance.

What adjustment are you selecting?

It sounds like you might be going up to the menu across the top and selecting your adjustment. However, when using the selection control points, you will need to click on the button that says "Select Adjustment" under the edit list on the right side towards the botton. These are the same options you will find on the global adjustments on the Adjust menu on the top of the application, but these will only affect the control point and not the entire image.

Hope this helps.
