We brought our new kitten, Simba, to the vet today and she said he is very healthy except that he has coccidia. She said not to worry, that it is very common in kittens. But I am of course worried. Has anyone's kitten also had this? Is it really nothing to worry about? She gave us antibiotics to give him for 10 days and said he should be fine. Also, any suggestions for how to give him his medicine? It's in a dropper. He's usually very good and lets me hold him when I need to clip his nails, etc., but I have a feeling he's going to fight me on this!

We had to give meds to two of our cats when they were little. If you have someone to help, have them hold the cat while you get medicine in the dropper. When you are ready, put just a tiny drop on the cat's lips. They will usually start licking to get it off. At that point, very slowly start giving the medicine in a slow, steady, continuous stream. The cat will continue licking until it is all gone. Don't squeeze the dropper to hard or you will expel more than the cat can lick and waste some of the med. Not sure if this method will work on every cat, but it worked for us. Good luck :D
