Question for those who have stayed at GF

I am glad to hear that it sounds as if customer service has improved at the GF. I stayed there when I was married at Disney, and did V&A's and all that. I didn't find it snobby, just received sub-standard customer service. I was very disappointed, because poor customer service so rarely happens in Disney--and then to get bad service at the GF--during our wedding...ugh. The bellman threw the cake topper at my husband, smashing it to bits...what the heck? (obviously, I can hold a grudge, but I mean, it was our cake topper! But, well, you know how brides can be :rotfl: )

I would never stay there again (it was that bad). It almost put me off Disney altogether, but we found several nice moderates and we adore the WL, which is where we usually go.

If other Disers say it has improved, I will take their word for it because they have seldom steered me wrong. I had the most magical wedding and a lot of the credit goes to the Disers. But still, I will never stay at the GF again. Ever. If it were FREE I would still have to really think about it.

Being on the monorail is convenient, but we love the boat ride from WL more. It is just a question of personal preference. The theming of GF is very gingerbread Mary Poppins. I'm from California, and I was expecting more of a Hotel del Coronado vibe, which is pretty silly, I guess, because this is a Disney resort after all.
