Ladies, how did the clomid make you feel? Not just the emotional craziness but physically? Did the clomid make you sick or hurt or something else?

This is my second month on the clomid and I'm so miserable. Beyond the emotions all over the map, the medicine has made me sick physically and bloated and hurt. Last week it was mild cramping to kickoff ovulation and today it's more like ripping the insides out through my belly button. I've read about side effects and talked with the doctor who is busy and really doesn't have time to hold my hand which is understandable.

I'm coming here and asking if others had side effects and how bad they are/were.

I think I'm being tested if I really want a baby bad enough. I don't think I can keep taking this medicine. Luckily or unluckily my husband is away for a while towards the end of next month so I will take a medicine break I think and try to regroup. Sometimes I just think I don't want this enough or I'd be willing to walk through the gates of hell to get pregnant. I just sort of keep waiting for it to happen. I guess it just doesn't happen that way.

I had pain from too many follicles being stimulated. Could that be it? Good idea for a break - I think I remember it is best to only do three month cycle anyway.

As for othe symptoms, I had mild hot flashes and was moody...

:grouphug:hope you are feeling better soon - or at least get an answer to ease your mind...and best of luck!!!!:)

The only troublesome physical side-effect I had was blurred and wonky vision. It only lasted a little while but it was kind of trippy.

Ask your doc about Femara. Does the same thing as Clomid but without the side effects. Many REs are switching to it now.

well it's been 27 and 24 years ago, but I don't remember any problems. Now the provera I took to start a cycle....told my doctor never again!!!!

Are you being monitored? It could be like the pp stated that you are being overstimulated. I only took it one month, I was so bloated I looked 6 months pregnant. I had much less side effects from the injections and will not be taking clomid ever again.

Thank you. I guess I'm being monitored but not really. I can call the doctor but she isn't requiring ultrasounds or blood testing.

This is the most miserable medicine I have been on. I can't imagine wanting to try something else especially injectables.

Thank you all for your input I do appreciate it.

I second this recommendation. I've taken femara and had ZERO side effects. I'm surprised REs are even prescribing clomid anymore.

Do you see a gyn or RE? I think it's a good idea to monitor a clomid cycle for how many follicles are growing and what sizes. I know not all doctors do, but I don't think it hurts to keep track of things. The pain could be from a large number of follicles which is also a risk for multiples.

I know that injections sound bad, but I had very little side effects from them. Once I got used to the idea and doing them, it was really not a big deal.

I'm on a medication break now while dh is in Afghanistan. We'll try to time things for his two week break coming up in a couple of months. I'm using this time to try and lose 20 lbs and eat healthy since they say that can help. I figure it can't hurt and it gives me something to work on while he's gone for the year.

Good luck. :goodvibes

The only two side effects that I ever noticed on Clomid were hot flashes and uncontrollable laughing. I am not just talking a giggle fit, I am talking about laughing at inappropriate things. You could tell me that your Dog died, and I might start laughing.

My OB said it was a nervous thing, but who knows. It happened every time I took it!

I did great on injections. I had very few side effects, other than sore breasts.

Oh, yes, I had very sore ****s following the trigger shot. :rotfl:

My ****ies really hurt on Clomid. Almost didn't want DH near me. Good luck Tina.

Sorry your having side effects. I didn't have any and was never monitored when on this but when I went to injections of a bigger drug I had to have an internal ultrasound and blood tests everyday to make sure there wasn't too many folicals like someone said. That is painful and can make your ovaries very large.

Good luck with your cycle,
