Why does it seem like women everywhere nowdays, at least High School Age, are wearing skimpier and skimpier clothing? I'm not even talking about the girls who basically come to school in their underwear, I'm talking about the women who wear skirts that only go about halfway down the thigh, and shirts that show the mid-drift, and seem to be a size or two too small. Honestly I prefer at least, longer skirts, and your plain ol' t-shirt that actually fits. I don't mind if it's skin tight, but I actually like it better when it's not showing everything off. I dunno, I'm probably a man walking alone here, but why does it seem like women just seem to be taking off more and more clothing, when I at least, I don't know about the rest of the male population, prefer it when more isn't showing. :confused3

I've got big issues with clothing lately. I wear longer skirts (knee lenght usually, I've got a couple that come a few inches above, but no classic mini) I wear tshrits, or tank tops. and if its really skin tight, I'll wear something over it. I've got to agree, leave something to the imagination.

Most of the skirts/dresses I own are knee-length or longer, though I do own two miniskirts that come about halfway down my thigh, but on the rare occasion i do wear them, I usually wear some leggings (That I was wearing before everyone else was! Darn my trendsetting! hehe) I happen to be rather...how shall I put this... well endowed so it can be hard to find shirts that aren't like HELLO CLEVAGE!, but I do. Girls really don't understand how to walk the fine line of tastefull skin-bearing and "Look at me I'm a hoochie!" but whatever floats their boat...

i hate that clothing style (if you can call it a style).
i still don't get why some girls do that.. and i'm a girl. but I'm more comfortable when i wear skirts that are at or below the knee and normally get shirts where i wear undershirts.
i'm not fond of the skirt up the bum and the so tight, exposing shirt....

I've found that clothing styles aren't made for the well endowed.

I dont really wear skirts very often, not at all to school. My skirts are to my knee or longer, if i do wear them. I wear girls basketball shorts everyday, which go to my knees. If I do wear a tank top I wear one then put one over that.

I am exactly the same way. I can't remeber the last time I wore shorts that came above my knees. When I do wear tank tops I wear long ones.

I don't know why girls dress like that. I mean, at my skool the girls' skirts have to be past fingertip length so the girls wear really short skirts(and I mean really short like they can't bend over even a little bit or there underwear shows) and then when a teacher comes they pull the skirt down . Even in gym we have to wear basketball type shorts and the girls roll them up so they look like underwear. I hate that. I mean I know it is pretty hard to find a skirt that is cute and is skool appropriate but if you look really hard you could probaby find a few.

Yeah, and have you seen girls who shouldn't be wearing it? Some people in my school are sort of on the heavy side (You know what I mean) and they wear short shorts, and really really tight shirts. :crazy2: Just because you can wear something, doesn't mean you should. And me having low self confidance in my figure, I would never DREAM wearing those kinds of clothes. Even if I did like my body, I still wouldn't wear it cuz, it's just gross and uncomfortable. I'll just stick to jeans and t-shirts thank you very much.

I especially find it "eye burning" when someone wears thin white mini skirts in the rain...I don't care how anyone's body is built (i.e., fat, skinny) I don't want to see anything under anyone's skirt.

I can't stand to see shirts that open so low up top (like down to the belly) where you see more than anyone should. It isn't very flattering, just proves the person has an ugly sense of fashion (IMHO).

The style of clothes I like proves I am living in the wrong generation. lol.

i agree, i mean...i do have my miniskirts but they are NOT microminis...those are gross. and i personallly don't like my clothes bagggy but i don't like them 10 sizes to small either...i don''t have anyshirts that show my stomach b/c that is discusting. i will wear shorts but i really hate it wen you go into stores and all of there shorts look like bikini bottoms...it's nasty what clothing today has turned into! i like to look classy and good @ the same time. not trashy.

i see plenty of things that i dont wanna see! i have older girls living in my neighborhood who, wear inappropriate stuff! yeah, i own mini skirts but i dont wear them to school or out in public or anything. i only wear them as a swimsuit coverup. i have a pair of short shorts that i rarely wear and a pair that are a little lower than mid-thigh. when i wear non-jean shorts, i wear either basketball or cotton material which i tend to roll up so they're shorter but see i'm 5'8 1/2 so i have the legs for short shorts! i wont lie, i do wear short shorts but they arent too short so my butt doenst hang out! as for shirts.......dont get me started! i wear mostly shirts i earn from sport and stuff for 1, i like them, and 2, my chest is HUGE so i cant find a decent shirt nowadays that doesnt make me bulge out at the top...........oh and when i see girls wearing belly shirts who have to much of a belly, i gag........its disgusting and its embarrasing! ewwwwww! i am a tom-girl so dont worry bout me wearing clothes that are too small! tom=loves sports and that....girl=likes makeup/purses/skirts...................

i agree with that. it is very hard to find a shirt that doesnt make my chest look larger than it is because stores now make shirts skin tight.

and munky most of the boys i know agree that girls should cover up more. in my old school girls would wear their uniform skirts very short so if the bent down you would umm see some inappropriate stuff. Now there was only maybe three boys who liked seeing this but the rest alway used to say how the girls needed to cover up.

Well I'm all for seeing women with no clothes on and everything, but when you can just turn your head and see a whole hallway of it...takes away the appeal you know? :confused3

Honestly, I only own one mini. & it's not even short! two people in the other class think it's incredibly short, but it's because they know they can't wear something like that because they're uncomfortable with their weight. I only like denim mini's, but nothing like short short. I enjoy the flowy skirt once & a while. Sometimes a cute dress over jeans.

As for shirts:
MIDRIF IS OUT! no one wears those tops anymore that show their stomach. if they do, well they're obviously not reading magazines these days. Tube tops are nasty, I can hold one up, no problem but yeah. I have one skimpy shirt, and it's not my fault. AE makes their straps on EVERYTHING really long. I'm short, so the straps don't really do much.
I hate skin tight shirts, like so tight i cant breath. it makes my chest look HUGE, and it shows off way too many of my curves. i like shirts that are sem-baggy, so it looks kind of like i'm smaller than i am, but they hug me in the right spots, so it's not uncomfortable.

Bikini's are pretty much self explanatory. I just don't like the way a full piece hugs me, but the only thing is, i'm self concious in my bikini because i'm not exactly small up there, and well, you have to worry. CONSTANTLY.

Shorts? I wear denim bermuda shorts ALL the time, one pair of short shorts, two pairs of comfy gym shorts, & generally jeans if it's not too hot, or jeans rolled up into capri's.

People keep on saying that 'I hate it when people expect me to be well endowed' is now turning to the opposite. Everyone these days finds people who aren't well endowed beautiful. Models, half the girls in those AE ads.. everyone. I wish I could just wear a tank top without a bra, but I can't. I'm not lucky enough.

yeah babyjustrun i wear the same type of shirts you do basically. I have some friends who have never seen me without a hoodie thought. even in the hot summer i wear a hoodie.

i love my sweater. it's not quite a hoodie. it's a zipper hoodie. & i have another hoodie type thing. I LOVE them, but i can't wear them in the summer. it's like Florida hot right now. but i was stupid enough to wear a real thick sweater during volleyball practice & during gym class. bad idea. i'm competitive when i comes to volleyball, so i was playing really hard. it was so darn hot.

i usually wear my short shorts to Magic Mountain cos i'm going to end up taking them off to go swimming soo. & my other pair are actually for bed, & they're only short cos i roll them up.
