Question for the iPhone experts

Just got an iPhone 4 a few weeks ago, and LOVE IT!.

When I plug in my iPhone to my iMac, it brings up iPhoto instead of iTunes. I've checked all the settings and I can't see why that would be happening. Any ideas from the experts before I run to the Apple Store?

When I plug mine into my PC it brings up the option to open up the window with the photos I've taken on my phone so I assume it's just standard as part of the camera

iPhoto is ususally set to open automatically whenever a camera is plugged into the machine and it recognizes the iPhone as a camera which is why it opens. You can disable that option within the iPhoto preferences. I'm at work right now and don't have access to my Mac to tell you exactly which screen the option is in.

As for opening iTunes, well after you have the phone connected, open iTunes and click on the phone from the devices menu and then under the Summary tab ensure that the open to open iTunes when the device is connected is checked.

Mine was doing that for a while even though I had the box checked to open iTunes when the phone was connected. After the update to iOS5 it started working properly again.

Like a previous poster said, it's in the iPhoto preferences setting. Look around there and there should be an option to "open iPhoto when a camera is detected", or something along those lines. Uncheck that box and you should be good to go.
