Ok, I need some quick advice from anyone in the 'know' :confused3:

We will be at WDW for free dining and have ressies for California Grill <our first time there> on our last night at 5:50, however my travel agent has let me know that there is a time of 9:40 still available. We are planning on doing only Magick Kingdom all day and all night, after dinner, as that is our very last night there. Which is best? We want to be able to experience the parade and fireworks with our children, so go early do dinner and head back to Magic Kingdom for that or plan for the very late dinner and try to watch the fireworks from california grill? This is a bit of what we were told

fireworks are scheduled this evening for 10:00 pm. I was told that depending on the server some really work on planning your courses around the fireworks & you have the option of going out on the balcony & then returning to your table after the show.

which time should we do?? :confused3:

I would say definitely the earlier time. Not sure how old your kids are, but all day and all night in the MK can be quite tiring without a break. The ride on the monorail and a couple of hours away from the park could be a wonderful thing that recharges everyone and gets you ready for a late night at the park.

Also, if they've never experienced Wishes, they really need to see it on Main Street. I know you can see it from the Cali Grill (as well as Ohana, the Grand Floridian, and even the Monorail), but it's not the same as seeing it in the park.

Again, I would vote for 5:50.

Thank you so much for the info! My boys are 9 and 12. :thumbsup2:
Plus a mother in law who has NEVER BEEN!!

I couldn't handle all day and night at the MK plus that late of a dining reservation and I'm not 9 =) Esp at the end of the week when you are DEAD TIRED.

Personally, the best spot for Wishes is right on Main St. That's my favorite thing to end my week with. It loses something when seen from other spots, IMO.

Take the early spot. Enjoy your meal and then if you feel up to it, head back to MK for the parade and fireworks. It'd be a great way to end your first WDW trip =)

You, know there is a key phrase in your msg "last night".

Will you have the opportunity to see Wishes any other night you're there? Of so I'd do that and take the late CG ressie. I have not done Wishes from there, but have at Narcoossee's and its a different kind of wonderful. Arriving on time for your ressie will allow you a chance to go out to the deck for viewing. If you could place your order before heading out do that to make things go quicker when you return. Just share a CS meal or two early so the kids aren't cranky hungry by 10pm.

If this is a one shot deal w/Wishes and Spectro, definitely eat early and see it live.

Another vote for the early ADR!:thumbsup2

Just this week I called for a CG ADR and ran into the same dilemma: 5:30 or 9:20 were the available openings. At first I was truly disappointed because I was hoping for a time around 7:30. But I took the 5:30 and now am so happy that I did! As it turns out, CG dinner service starts at 5:30 so I'm thinking that an early ADR will have the best opportunity to get a table by the windows. And as an added bonus, Wishes is scheduled for 6:00 because it's a MVMCP night! :woohoo:

Plus....I just love spending my last evening hours in MK!
