Question for someone who has rented a car from National

I got a really good rate for a minivan without using any coupon code. The only thing I would like now is a coupon for a free second driver, as my husband and I will both need to drive. Does anyone know if National ever offers such a coupon? I can't seem to find one. Thanks!

Join the Emerald Club. You can get a link at Mousesavers to join for free.

Here is what National's web site says about the extra driver benefit with Emerald Club:

"An Emerald Club member's spouse, immediate family member living with him/her, business partner, employer, or fellow associate who has an assigned corporate contract with National and drives the car for business purposes. All other additional authorized driver situations are subject to a daily charge."

Thank you! I can't believe how fast you found that! I am a little confused by the wording, though. Do you think it means that a spouse will be free if the car was used for pleasure, or would he/she have to be free only if it was used for business? It isn't clear if the spouse must drive for business, or just the fellow associate listed at the end of the list? (By the way, we already are Emerald Club members)

A spouse is automatically covered. The business use refers to business associates.
