Question for recent HRH guests

I'm hoping recent HRH guests can help me out. We are staying at HRH and did splurge on the larger room that has two queen beds and a sofa bed. I'm trying to determine reasonable breakfast options. We are spoiled because as DVC members we are used to having a kitchen and being able to have a quik, reasonably healthy and reasonably priced breakfast between food we bring from home and what we grab at the resort store. Do the HRH rooms have refrigerators? Are there grab and go options at HRH beyond donut and muffin? Is there anywhere within walking distance where you can pick up breakfast stuff for the room? My other thought is to bring a jar of peanut butter and some packages of sandwich thins from home and give everybody a sandwich and try to grab some fruit somewhere. This probably sounds a bit obsessive but some of the family have low blood sugar and can't do the donut breakfast or we bottom out and feel horrible an hour later. So, any info to help me with with my plotting and planning is appreciated!

is it a deluxe 2Q room?
call and make sure your room will have the sofa bed and not just the sofa.

there is a mini bar fridge in all the rooms.
you need the key to open it, but i suggest you don't.
many have posted about having a charge for using an item in that fridge that they didn't.

you can rent a fridge for $15 per night.

it would be cheaper to buy the $4 styro foam ice chest and fill it with ice from the ice machine on your floor.
store the chest in the tub so hskp won't disturb it.

there is a walgreens that is walkable by PBH.
also a few other stores there you can buy things.

you can do ala cart at The Kitchen for breakfast.
this restaurant is on the 1st floor of hrh.

there is a side section by E & B that has some breakfast offerings.

you can go to RPH and buy ala carte from the Orchid Lounge Court.
it is opened at 6:00 am daily.

at 8:00, city walk has places that are opened.
pastamore has a breakfast option at the side window.
benches/tables are near by.

confisco bay has some offerings in ioa when the park opens.

We love the bakery place just to the right inside IOA. They have a continental breakfast that is about $6 that includes a muffin or croissant, drink, and fruitcup. The fruit and muffin are really large so we actually end up splitting one breakfast between two people. We tried the small place at HRH and the prices were ridiculous for the size/quantity of food that you got.

Emack and Bolio's in the lowest level of the HRH has quick breakfast options and there is a microwave down there and a toaster.

The deluxe 2 queen rooms at the HRH have a nice little separate area that you can use to prepare some quick little breakfasts. You can use the Keurig to heat water.

We do the styrofoam cooler thing at Disney and it does work well....just remember to put it in the tub in case it leaks like a pp said.:thumbsup2 You could stock it up with juice and fruit cups that you can also bring from home. Peanut butter sandwiches are great for breakfast:goodvibes

I do believe that Universal has Keurig (sp.?) coffee makers. When my son comes home from school he removes any coffee cups from the Keurig and just runs it through with hot water into a cup.... then adds an envelope of instant oatmeal and some raisins. We plan on doing this when we go to Universal for breakfast.

Thanks for the great ideas and tips. Macraven, thanks to you in particular, I have been getting so much from your posts! You are quite the expert!

thanx.

i just like to share my experiences.

i can still remember when i was a newbie and only knew the motherland.
