Question for recent Contemporary Guests

My family and I will be visiting the Contemporary in June 08. I've read all about the construction and 4th floor renovations. I'm wondering about the refillable mugs at the Tempo Grab and Go. Are they being used? If so, which mugs (are they the old red and purple ones or the new Year of a Million Dreams)? DS will be really disappointed if he can't get his frozen coke refils. Thanks for your help.

No, when we were there in December they were not using the mugs at CR. I don't know when they will be moving to the permanent location, but I don't understand that they will have them until then.

It was posted a few months ago that the new counter service location which is to be called Chef Mickey's Express, might be opening on August 14th, 2008. Now that has not been confirmed by WDW so it's only a rumour however no one has posted any other possible opening dates, so that is what we can go by right now.

Thanks to Princess Suzanne and CR Fan 4 Life. I kina figured we'd be out of luck on the refillable mugs while they were getting Chef Mickey's Express ready . I looked at the picutres of the Tempo Grab and Go and I couldn't see any drink dispensers, just coffee and bottled sodas and juices. We were at the Polynesian in 2005 while they were re-doing the counter service restaurant there and were not allowed to purchase the mugs. Just bad luck to have this happen twice. Oh, well it won't tampen our spirits, afterall....WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!

Does anyone know when the renovations at contemp are supposed to be finished? Planning a trip for October and considering the deluxe dining which comes with the free mugs. Also, is it true that the concourse steakhouse will be no more? When will it close? what is going to replace it?

Where the concourse is now will become Chef Mickey's Express, the counter service for the hotel. Where the old Food and Fun Center is where The Wave will be going, the new sit down restaurant. HTH.

Like I said before if Chef Mickey's Express opens on August 14th like it was reported, once that is done there is no more renovations going on inside the Tower. By then the Wave should already been open, which would mean Chef Mickey's Express was the last bit of renovation to be completed.
