Question for mods about a rate discount sticky thread

Sorry if this has been asked before, but...

Would it be possible to put up a sticky thread (i.e. Important: Latest Rate Info)to announce when the latest resort discounts are released or rumors about when the rates are to be released?

Many people come here to search and talk about the rate discounts. There are so many old and new threads about discounts and often the critical info could be buried on page 40 of the latest rate thread. This makes it very hard to find when the latest rate increase has finally come out or about to be released.

I know other sites specialize in this information. But often posters on this board seem to get a day or two warning, but other sites only announce when the rates are actually released. By then (after a full day head start) many dates have already been snapped up.

Also, it would helpful to not allow posting to the thread so that it would stay uncluttered so the info could easily be found. Info could be emailed to mods to post. Obviously, all info is not guaranteed.

Would the DISboards consider this idea? It would be a big help to their members (at least to me anyway).

Great idea. I was away for a few days and did look thru many pages just to see if I missed any big rate news. This would help for situations like that.

Since the DIS already has a discounts page where this can be found:

It would be a bit redundant to have a sitcky thread about it. I know that people often post when they find a new discount, but keep in mind that the DIS consists of much more than just the discussion boards.

In addition when you start sticking a lot of threads at the top of the boards they tend to get lost overall (many people don't even look at the threads that are stuck even though they are there to help.)
