My Boss did, She ended up having a miscarrage when the removed the IUD.

Do you know anyone who has gotten pregnant with an IUD in place? I have an IUD, but have been having symptoms of pregnancy but I am trying to just shake them off because from everything I've read an IUD is 99% effective. So I keep hoping it's all in my head - this would be baby #3 and although I would be thrilled with a third child, right now it would be very hard financially.

Anyway, just wanted to know if you know of anyone that got pregnant with an IUD.

Yup, I'm a family dr in the UK, and I've seen this happen. You need to get a pregnancy test done with your family doctor.
