My youngest dd (6) is gluten intolerant - dx at age 4 - and has been GF since then. We have had two episodes of vomiting recently - one the day after Thanksgiving and another one the night before last. The one in Nov was severe vomiting for approx 24 hrs; no other symptoms; no fever. She stopped vomiting after 24 hrs but the following day was totally wiped out from the continuous vomiting. Then two days ago stated she didn't feel well; didn't want to eat supper; but she ended up eating most of it anyways. Couple of hours later the vomiting started. She vomited for the better part of the night and yesterday. She was able to keep down her rice pasta last night and today is fine. Again no fever and no other symptoms.

When she was eating gluten, she didn't have vomiting. She had skin rashes, digestive/bowel issues and FTT issues. I"m wondering if its possible that she is somehow getting gluten of some sort in her diet (how I dont' know but both times she was eating at a relative's house). Both during holiday times when we know gluten is just rampant in holiday foods. She does have a slight rash right now but not a bad one.

For the record she is mostly healthy. She doesn't tend to get sick - sniffles or the sort but not much in way of stomach viruses and the such. Do you think the vomiting could be gluten-related or am I overreacting?

It wouldn't surprise me if she was. Just think how long it took you to get a grip on everything that had gluten in it. So they may have thought they were cooking gluten free but something slipped by them

She got sick AGAIN after eating at my parent's which I thought was a GF meal :( I'm thinking she's getting trace amts and that's what is bringing about the vomiting. I'll be going back to solely preparing her meals.
