Question for fellow DVCers

Yesterday in the mail I received a mailing from DVC. It was an advertisement for the DVC Once Upon a Time Sweepstakes. I went to the DVC website and tried to enter and the message I received was:

ELIGIBILITY STATUS

We're sorry, you are entering from a state, province, territory or country that prohibits you from entering. Please continue to explore other Disney Vacation Club Special Offers that are available to Members.

Has anyone else had any problems entering? I live in NYC and have entered every sweepstakes DVC has had without any problem.

I am from upstate NY and got the same message!!!

Well, there you go. It's official. You NY'ers aren't really from the US, Canada or other eligible countries.

North Carolina is also a "no-no" state. Got the same message when I tried to enter.

Apparently Maryland is also a no-no state.

We are in NC and I got the same message. I am not sure that it is really prohibiting it or if it is related to the maintenance on the web site.

Got the following message in the My Membership spot:

"We are currently unable to access your Disney Vacation Club Membership information while we perform scheduled system activities."

Makes me wonder... if the system cannot look me up, than it cannot know where I am from. Guess I will try again later.

Add Indiana to the list of those prohibited.

I have to believe it is a system problem. Here is the excerpt from the eligibility section of the terms and conditions:

"2. Eligibility: Sweepstakes open only to members of Disney Vacation Club in good standing prior to August 15, 2007 who are legal residents of one of the 50 United States or District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec), Mexico, Puerto Rico or the United Kingdom, and who are at least the age of majority in their state/province/territory/country (or "Jurisdiction") of residence at the time of entry. "

I'm from the Buffalo area, and I registered with no problems at all!?! I know the site has issues from time-to-time - maybe if you clear your cookies and try again, it will let you in. Or, if you wait a couple days for them to fix the problem.

Here in NJ we have no problems entering.
