Hello digital scrappers......

Do you have time to answer a few questions from someone who does not digital scrap (yet)?

After you make your digital pages, how do you print them out? Do you do it at home or have them printed somewhere?

And do you have a laptop that you LOVE and could recommend for your scrapping?

THANKS!!:flower3:

I use a desktop, almost got a laptop but figured I'd just use it here in this chair so got a new desktop! LOL

I print photobooks. I wait til I have my entire trip or year done and then I get them printed in bound books. They look fabulous and I just used the new printers from www.artscow.com and they turned out great, a huge improvement from my previous book from them on their old printer.

Other people get each page printed separately, either at home or outsourced. You can print 8x8 easily at home (create in 12x12 and resize to print) or to outsource, www.sbtoshare.com or costco are popular places. www.mypictales.com is another company that does both books and single pages, i have heard good things about them, but haven't used them. There is usually an excellent coupon for My Pic Tales in the DST newsletter: www.digishoptalk.com and go to downloads on the top bar and download the newsletter in pdf format and look for coupons. I have yet to look at the June NL so I cannot guarantee one in there, but there usually is.

When I was at Staples last month buying my Kodak printer (for myself for Mothers Day!) - I told the guy I wanted it because of scrapbooking. He said they print 12 x 12 pages out there - I think he said they are $1.69 each - but that sounds really low...! (He didn't seem quite sure of the price.) Maybe someone else could weigh in here.

I haven't yet taken the digital plunge, but plan to investigate this sometime - if you have a Staples by you, it might be worth checking out...

I don't have a printer that can do 12x12 (yet, there is always hope!). Sometimes I print 8x8 which I can do at home. Sometimes I send them to be printed. I've had good results with shutterfly. I wait for a coupon/deal.

I print my pages as 12x12's and slip them into photo albums. I don't scrap chronologically so this makes my life a little easier. I have printed at several places. I was not happy with sbtoshare or mypictales, at ALL. A lot of people are very happy with them but I didn't feel the lower price was worth the drop in quality. Maybe I'm too picky but I work hard on those pages, I won't settle for less. Scrapping Simply has very reasonable prices (.99 for 8x8 and 1.99 for 12x12)and a flat $5.00 shipping fee. Their customer service is top notch and for that alone I highly recommend them. But if you're an edge scrapper you have to be willing to bring your design in about 1/4 and inch or create a bleed once you've finished. Again, this is pickiness on my part, it doesn't bother most people. For excellent quality and not having to worry about cropping/bleed I go with Scrapbook Pictures. Their prices are competative (1.99 for 8x8 and 3.49 for 12x12) with a flat shipping fee of $2.00. The regularly have sales and not having to worry about my edges getting cropped makes the sales worth waiting for.
So in summery if I need great quality, fast, inexpensive and am not concerned about my edges=Scrapping Simply.
If I've scrapped to the edge (which I often do) and don't want to mess with bleed, need excellent quality, fast, reasonable cost I will save them up for a sale and go with Scrapbook Pictures.
