Question for current or past participants in CP

I was just curious, does safety and security ever conduct random room searches for illicit substances (particularly in the wellness spaces)?

Not that I plan on stashing drugs or anything haha, but this is an issue I've encountered at school before, where RAs or security officers have actually searched rooms without any reason for suspicion. Does this happen at the apartment complexes or will they not search unless they have reason to?

they never did with our apartment during my program. the only time they come into your apartment is during inspection or if by chance someone in your apartment told security you had alcohol or drugs in your apartment (i have heard of some cases where that did happen)

Not on my program either. Security does not come in unless you give them a reason to. Don't be suspicious or get complaints. And yeah, don't bring drugs.

Plus they really make themselves known when they do come in. That whistle they have to use if no one answers the door is hilarious.

They can! They came into our room randomly during our program, and we're not really sure why. We never had parties, never had any illicit substances, but we think maybe someone was mad at our noise level or something? We're not sure, but just know that they certainly can come in and they search through EVERYTHING.

Do they search through your bags? or zipper compartments?

I'm not sure about zipper compartments, but I do remember them searching bags if they saw them. They probably would. It was pretty intense even though we knew we didn't have anything. I will say that I think someone was trying to get us in trouble (even though we knew our neighbors, so we don't really know who would be mad at us) for being a little loud one night and decided to tell security we had stuff we shouldn't because we never heard of any "random" searches in anyone else's apartment. It was really weird .
