Question for Birkenstock owners

I recently bought a pair of Birkenstock cross strap sandals and they kill my feet! How long does it take to break these things in anyway??

It feels like I am walking barefoot on golf balls

I think it was about a week for me as well. You may have a little discomfort again if you go a while without wearing them. Once you get them broken in you will love it!

Oh wow! I wish it was a week for me. It takes me a good month and that is wearing then for a few hours a day. I can't just put a pair on and wear them all day.

What kind of footbed are yours? I hope they are the right kind for your feet.

As a person who owns about 15 pair, I hate wearing anything else. When I have to wear other brands like for formal wear or whatever the occasion, those are the shoes that kill my feet. I'm fortunate that I can wear mine right out of the box and the more broken it they get, the more comfortable they are.

I think they are the cork footbed, but if you look at it, they look like suede. Does that even make sense??

I am finding that if I wear them for a few hours they start feeling ok, but when I put them on again the next morning OUCH!

I bought them at QVC, so I still have about 2 weeks left to return them if I change my mind. They take them back even if they are worn outside for the whole month, that's why I love QVC!

QVC has some great prices on them. I got my first pair in April for $28.00. It only took me a few days to break them in.

I wore them on a day of shopping and my feet felt great! My poor mom's feet didn't hold up in her old sandals.

They aren't for everyone. My DH is doing well with a pair of leather sandals with a brand affiliated with New Balance.
