I have heard several times that the best way to thank a cast member is to stop by Guest Services and let them know.

What happens as a result? Small bonus in the paycheck? Less time wearing the Tigger costumer? Free Mickey bars?

I have a friend that works with me now that was a CM for 10 years. I will ask her and see what she says.

We asked about this after having a CM go above and beyond. We were advised to provide the info to Guest Services and the CM is acknowledged in front of their coworkers in a meeting.

The note is passed on to their immediate manager/coordinator and displayed on a board in their break room.

Memos from guests, whether good or bad, are included in their employment files. Compliments are shared and then posted for all to see.

Yeah you typically get a nice certificate that includes the guest compliment. You don't get any type of raise or tip but as a CM it makes your day :) It also does go onto your employment file and enough of them could make a consideration when hiring decisions are being made.
