Hi,

My family & friends are heading down to Virginia Beach in the summer and I was wondering how long it takes to get to King's Dominion?

Also, if you have been to KD would you recommend it to a family of people who aren't thrill ride seekers (rollercoaster people)?

Just curious to see if maybe we should do KD instead of Busch Gardens (although I love this park)!

Thanks for all your help,
Lisa

King's Dominion is north of Richmond in Ashland, VA. It will take you at least 2 hours to drive there from VBeach. They do have quite a few coasters. There are a few less thrilling things, but it is a ride intensive park. If I was at VBeach, and had the choice of a theme park day, I would choose Busch Gardens, because it is (IMO) a tad more adult oriented, you can see the Clydesdale horses, and if the mood strikes, you can sample some beer.

Oh, I am not aVirginian now, but did live there 32 years, even before BG and KD were built!

It takes about 2 1/2 hours to get to KD from VA Bch. I personally would not recommend KD over BG. It is definately a thrill seekers paradise. But there really isnt anything else to do for people who arent. Plus not to many places for shade in the summer months.
This is just my 2 pennies:D

Thank You very much! It doesn't sound like a place my friends would enjoy. I love BG but my DH & I love coasters.

I appreciate the advise!
Lisa
