Question Dream vs Magic?

Hi there,
We just got back from an amazing 4 day on the Dream. We loved every minute. We booked onboard for another cruise this time next year. We booked again for the Dream..but have been debating trying a 5 day on the Magic.
My concern with the Magic is the lack of the Aqua Duck. My girls are 10 and 6. My 10 year old even if she was big enough would have no interest in the Dunk..and my 6 year old I'm assuming would be too small.

I would love new shows and experiences so torn on what to do.

Any suggestions from those of you that have sailed on both?

We are sailing on the Dream soon but have sailed on the Fantasy and the Magic, and my kids WAY PREFER the Duck over the Dunk. My kids are 11 and twins who are now 9. They were on the Fantasy when they were 9 and 6. The Dunk was very short (like 10 seconds), and more like a fast water slide, while they liked the ability to see everything on the Duck, plus the longer time spent floating along. The Dunk goes too fast to appreciate being "over the water" in the tube.

The Magic does have the revamped kids club if that's a factor for your kids, but lacks the Midship Detective Agency.

Thanks so much for your info. My girls did love the midship detective and the aqua duck Sounds like we will stick with the Dream :)

Did your kids spend significant time on the Aqua Duck? I would think the different shows and different ship would be worth the loss, but that's just my opinion =)

I've been on both the Dream and Magic (pre-refit). The Dream definitely has more bells and whistles, but the Magic is also a great ship. If the Aqua Duck is important to your kids, I'd stick with the Dream.

We were able to see 2 of the three shows. We haven't seen Villains yet. They also loved the game shows and other activities. They were on the aqua duck multiple times a day even on the one windy and cold day we had!

I've been on all 4 ships, including the re-imagined Magic which is my favorite. My kids are 9, 11 and 15. My youngest was 8 on our latest Magic cruise and loved the Twist and Spout slide. The rest of us loved the Aqua Dunk. To each his own, but the Dunk is much more of a thrill than the Duck. What we love most about the smaller ships is the smaller crowds, especially on Castaway Cay. It is VERY noticeable and makes the trip much more relaxed. Have fun no matter what you choose!

If I could, I would love to go on the Magic! We haven't been on it since they updated it. But we loved that ship! And I have not likes the shows on the Dream as much as the ones we would see on the Wonder and Magic. We will be sailing the Dream again, only because it fits our spring break schedule. But if I could, I would love to go back on the Magic. There are just too many people on the Dream.
