Hi. I was just wondering if anyone can answer a few questions about the Disney Visa card. I know there are some good resort discounts offered for use with the Disney c/c as well as rewards. I was just wondering what the rewards are. Are there good offers for park hoppers? If so, how hard is it to earn the rewards and approx. how many rewards do you need to earn a free or discounted pass?

T/I/A for all your help. This board is the best!!!!

You earn 1 point for every $100.00 spent, so it can take awhile to get alot of points.
Each point is equal to $1, so you would earn enough points to get your park ticket, then send for the reward card, you can then take it to the Disney store to purchase you ticket. You do not earn point for each item, you merely "cash in " your points for the reward card and can use it at the disney store, or in WDW.
I have earned 270 points and plan on taking the card with me on our trip to spend for our meals.
There are other cards that give better rewards, but I like the Disney card since I do go frequently.
The Disney Visa also offers on discounts for vacation packages to WDW or other Disney locations.

Hi SomePixiedust.

I have about the same amount left on my card as helenk does. You can use it in WDW, DL, and Disney stores- including the one online. (probably all the Disney parks worldwide- but I am not sure...) AP rates are usually WAY better than the VISA offer, but get the calculator out and figure it out- as the current '5+2 and 25 Disney Dollars' offer came close to beating the AP rate. It will depend on length of stay and resort choice.

If you get one, buy EVERYTHING with it and pay it off each month. Groceries, gas, bills that accept credit- I even made a down payment on a car with it! I use mine for the boy's souveniers. They each get $100.00 for pins or whatever- and it didn't cost me a cent. I also just got a bunch of summer clothes for them at the Disney Store. Despite all this spending on souveniers and clothes- I will still have money left over for food or something else. If you use it for everything, the money adds up fast.

There are better premiums available with other cards at this point in time, but I use the Disney VISA because there are tangible monthly rewards which you can use for Disney stuff- and the differences between the Disney VISA and a miles card or AmEx are minimal IMHO. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for all your help. I got all the answers I was looking for. I knew these boards were the place to go! Since I currently pay my c/c balance off every month and have no rewards, it's sounds worth it to get the Disney card--anything will help!!

Thanks again!

when they send you the reward card, do you just use it to like a gift card or do you have to take it somewhere and turn it into Disney dollars at WDW?

You can use it like a charge card in WDW or the Disney stores, or you can use it to purchase Disney dollars if you wish.

Can you use the rewards money to pay for things like strollers and parking at the park?
