We live 2 hours from Disney and want to drive to Magic Kingdom Christmas morning for the Christmas Day Parade. What is the traffic like
on Christmas Day and how early should you arrive at MK? Is it worth the drive will we even get near the place?

The Christmas Day parade is not live. It was taped this weekend. The MK will be crowded.

I was suprised last Christmas morning to get to the park at 10 am to find in relatively uncrowded! Now that changed by noon and the park was a mob scene. So if you want to go early for a few hours and see the parade and leave it might work. The Christmas parade will run, it just won't be the one that's shown on tv.

Happy Holidays!

As Safety Mom said, the parade was pre-taped, but they will have both an afternoon (usually 3 p.m.) and evening parade that day. I think the park opens at 9 a.m., but it often closes to off-site guests fairly early. I would be there at 8:30 a.m. just to make sure you get in, unless you are okay with going to one of the other parks. I was there on Christmas Day 3 years ago, and MK was closed to off-site guests that morning. The traffic in Orlando and through the park was terrible that morning, so leave plenty of travel time.
