I haven't been to the boards lately, but I noticed all the talk about AP's. Are the DVC AP discounts comparable to Fla Resident pass prices? To do a seasonal pass renewal was (if I can remember correctly) about $187, but I miss having an annual pass and seeing the Christmas lights so I would want to get an AP again. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

My friend told me that there was a $20 AP discount on the FL passes. I can't find the link that shows that, though.

Here's a link to ticket prices:

Here is the information on the new DVC discount on APs - copied from the Members' Website:

2005 Member Savings

Walt Disney World® Resort Ticket Product Discount Off Retail Price - Ages 10 + Ages 3 - 9

Annual Pass - $100.00 $85.00
Florida Resident Annual Pass - $20.00 $17.00
Annual Pass Renewal - $75.00 $64.00

Premium Annual Pass - $125.00 $106.00
Florida Resident Premium Annual Pass - $25.00 $21.00
Premium Annual Pass Renewal - $95.00 $80.00

This is one of the FAQs that applies (also copied from the Members' Website):
Do I receive an additional discount on my Pass renewal if I already have a Florida Resident Annual Pass or Florida Resident Premium Annual Pass?
No. The renewal rate for Florida residents is already a great value.

It won't save FL DVC members any money in the long run as I read it. A small one time discount and no discount for renewals. The issue is whether the additional perks help you out or not. Things like cash hotel discounts, additional dining discounts, free parking if not staying on site might be enough to justify the extra cost for some, but not for many. If the seasonal pass works well for you, it'll still likely be the best option.
