Question ahout transferred points?

I am very new at looking into purchasing DVC, so please forgive my ignorance, but I have a question that I hope someone can answer.

I am considering buying a DVC resale. I am looking at buying a SSR low point resale. I am considering SSR because it seems to have a bigger selection on resales, lower annual fee and most times I don't plan more than 7 months out anyway, so resort wouldn't matter.

OK, here's my question. If I own SSR and 1 year I really wanted to stay at BWV, for example, could I buy someone's points who's home resort is BWV and use them to book a room 11 months out? Or do the points, once transferred to my account, become SSR points? I guess the basic question I'm asking is when points are transferred from one owner to another, does the home resort of those particular points stay the same or do they change to the home resort of the new owner of these points? I hope this question makes sense.

Transfered points retain their stripes, BWV transfered points would remain BWV points after transfer and can be used to reserve 11 months out at BWV.
