Question about windows at SSR

Just got back from my first stay at SSR (or any DVC resort) and I have an odd question about the windows.

A few mornings when we got up it was a little cold outside, 40's maybe. The windows had an extreme amount of condensation built up on the inside of them- to the point where it was running down the windows and pooling on the sills. Is this normal in Florida? I'm from NY and if I were to see this I'd say that the seals on the double pane (triple to be hurricane proof in FL?) was blown and the window needs to be replaced- but it was every window in the bedroom. Sliding door was fogged- but not soaked.

I didn't call maintanence at the time as I wasn't sure if this is the norm so I didn't want to bother them- or have people in my room when i wasn't-

Took pictures though and figured I'd ask the experts on here what's what...

That's just your breath and your sweat. It's not coming from outside.
The rooms, being new are very air tight and there's very little impingement of dry air from the outside to force the moist air out.
If the heater/air conditioner was running, it would be pulling in outside air to help keep the room dry but apparently it wasn't. It happened in the bedroom because that's where you were all night.

Hmm, ok that sounds like a good reason. Another side effect of Tyvek wrapped buildings and trying to keep things very airtight and energy efficient.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it :)

I notice you are from the north. This "condensation" actually happens a lot in high humidity climates. There's just a lot of mositure in the air and the combo of high humidity, sealed windows and tempature variances.... and there you go.

I think if you look at the windows next time you visit, you will see that they are single pane windows and not the dual pane that you usually see.

I noticed this the last few times that I visited SSR.

Really? Single pane windows in a hurricane zone? Building codes couldn't really be that lax in Florida could they? We rarely get hurricanes up here and new construction has to be strapped, anchored and the windows have to be atleast double, if not triple pane...

The humidity there is one of the factors that leads to condensation on the windows as well as the temperature differential outside.

WDW has some of the strictest building inspection codes in the state. The Reedy Creek Improvement District, the agency responsible for WDW inspections does a excellent job.

Who created and maintains control over the Reedy Creek Improvement District, Disney of course.
