Hi all, I've never been over to this board before. My mom and dad are thinking about going with us for 5 days of our trip. Dad has a back that can get bad. I wanted to know if wheelchair rental is like stroller rental--if we rent one at Epcot in the morning, then rest in the afternoon and hop to MGM at night, can we just show our receipt from Epcot and get another one for no additional cost? And how is availability at the parks? Some parks we would get to first thing, but sometimes he can go for a few hours and then need one.

Yes, it is similar to stroller rental. One difference is that you get a deposit back when you return the wheelchair. You can hop to other parks with the wheelchair rental receipt. One disavantage is that you cannot take a wheelchair that you rent in one park and use it for transport to another park. Another problem is that they sometimes run out of wheelchairs mid-morning. Other options include using one of the wheelchairs from the onsite resort, wich are available to resort guests free of charge on a first-come first-servced basis, or renting from off-site for the length of your stay.

Be sure to look at the FAQ - click on the link in my signature - and look at the sections about Pacing, and the GAC. Also, have you considered renting an ECV instead?
