Question about Webcertificates

I have a $20 Webcertificate from Blink. I thought that I could use the certificate to purchase a gift certificate at a restaurant in the WDW area (Planet Hollywood, Wolfgang Puck, etc...) on line, however, most restaurants only accept Supercertificates from giftcertificates.com. Any suggestions? I really planned on using this reward to help defray eating out expenses! THanks!

They'll probably move this over to the Rewards Board listed toward the bottom of the drop down list. I know you can purchase a Rainforest Cafe GC for $25 at giftcertificates.com, but you'd need another $5 on your webbie. You could print out copy of your webbie and take it to the Disney Store and purchase $20 in Disney Dollars for your trip....that would be the quickest thing to do. Even if you saved another $5, it usually takes a week or so to get your CG in the mail. Ask them over on the Rewards Board, someone else might have some ideas too. Good Luck & have a good trip!

When I did rewards programs a couple of years ago, I used my WC just like a Visa Card?? I just choose Mastercard as my payment option entered my # (should be 16 digit) along with the experation date they gave me on my account. And that was that. Maybe it has changed since then but that is what I did.

In fact, I have a plastic Webcertificate Mastercard so I could buy stuff OFF line.

I called the Disney Store and you cannot purchase Disney Dollars with the webcertificate on line. I would get a plastic card, but that will cost $6.95(?) Not really worth it witha $20 webcertificate. I do have 2 $25 gift certificates that I got through MY Points for Rainforest Cafe. I can't find any restaurants in the WDW area that I can order gift certificates on line with the webcertificate. ANy suggestions are appreciated.

But.... You can order a gift card from TDS online, then bring it to a retail TDS to purchase Disney Dollars. Despite getting mostly conflicting information from boards, groups, DisneyStore.com, and phoned-in questions to local TDS, I went to the nearest store and asked the manager.

At first, she didn't think it would work, but went to the back, checked some policies, and came back with "Yes." The distinction with gift cards at the retail TDS is between a full "gift card", purchased from the store (or online), valid for payment for anything they sell (including passes and D$). The other kind of gift card is a merchandise credit, which they give you if you return something without a receipt. Those can only be used to purchase merchandise items, not passes or D$.

So, we're still stocking up on our points, and when we reach the $25 WebCertificate point, we'll redeem it, use the online code to buy a $25 TDS gift card online (tax-free and shipping-free), then trade that in for D$ at the local TDS.

Almost sounds like money laundering....

I've doen this about 4 times and never had a problem and saved the $6.95 to boot!!! I've suggested it before on this board and its worked for others!!

Print out a copy of your webcertificate that has your name address acccount # and exp date take that to TDS and have the CM put it through manually presto you get your $DD.!!!

One time the CM wanted to know about the rewards and how they work I was there quite a while talking to her!!!

I explain about these rewards so the CM understands why I don't have the plastic card I can't see spending $6.95 for the card

I'm taking Dznypal's advice. I work at TDS, and asked my SM if she would allow me to purchase DD with my webcertificate. When I explained that it worked like a mastercard she said she'd have no problem entering the number manually for me.

Since Im not real good with computers or help with rewards but every once in awhile I come up with an idea that works!!!

I contacted my local TDS and asked about using my webcertificate mastercard account # to purchase D$'s and they were rather skeptical, however, they told me to go ahead and print it out and they would look it over and let me know. By the way, I had a horrible experience with webcertificate customer service today. I kept getting the same girl over and over again and she was extremely rude and inpatient with me. One of the CM's with TDS on-line tried to help me purchase a Disney gift cert. and inadvertantly (sp?) charged an amount to my web cert. acct. I like to have never gotten it straightened out. I hope I won't have to deal with webcertificate's customer service again. Just venting! I hope your idea works at the local TDS. THanks again!

Success at my local TDS in purchasing Disney Dollars with my webcertificate. I printed it out and took it in just like you suggested. They were very kind and I had no problems. Thanks for taking one chore off of my list. Isn't it awful to have money to spend and nowhere to spend it?!
