Question about WDW package price structure

I just try different options in WDW website in order to understand the package price structure. I plan for a 6-night stay at Port Orleans Riverside from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, standard room, with park ticket for 6 days, including Park Hooper option. According to WDW website:

Package price is 1472,55$.

Room only price is 1040,00$. (4 x 170$ and 2 x 180$).

Park ticket only (with Park Hooper): 301,40$.

Room (1040$) + Park tickey only (301,40$) = 1341,40$. That is 131,15$ cheaper than the package price.

Can someone explain me the rationale behind this or what I didn't understand?

Thanks!

I bet it is tax. Others will confirm, but that sounds like the right amount.

I agree with Tink-aholic.
Keep in mind the tax on the hotel will be around 13%, that plus (approximately) 6.5% on the tickets - sounds like the difference is tax.
HTH!

Agreed - likely tax and/or insurance. You need to go all the way to the checkout screen to get the final price with tax...It is fresh in my mind because I just did this morning when pricing out the 2 options for a client!

Usually there is only a few dollars difference between the two...the package us usually a few dollars more, but it is a much greater value for what you get! The biggest difference is, of course, with the deposit and balance due dates!

Hope this helps!
