I have a reservation for OKW for a studio for Dec 11-16. I am traveling with my 12yr old DS and would prefer to be at the BCV where we have easier access to Epcot and MGM and restaurants even though we do love OKW. We are waitlisted for BCV for the week, but not "day by day" as I have heard some folks mention. Will that make it much harder for us to get BCV? This is our first time using the waitlist. Thanks! :)

I do think that people who book day by day get their waitlist more often, but they are taking the chance that they may move unless they have enough points to cover both ressies at the same time, and then at the end cancel the one that is the one they were hoping for (because it wasn't complete), or the original one they had(because the waitlist came through). If you book both, you want to be sure about your banking dates, plus you have to make the decision before the points go to reservation status, within 30 days of the ressies beginning.

I do not know for sure that people who book day by day get their waitlist more often, but it does seem that way. I have never had to waitlist more for more than a few days, they have always come through, and they were always for the beginning or end of our stay.

If you wait list for the entire thing at one time and they get all but one day of what you want, they will pass you buy and give it to someone else. Day by day dramatically improves your chances of success but can be an intricate issue which includes questions of whether to borrow points, keep an existing home resort reservation, wait list multiple resorts at one time, etc. The variations are almost endless.
