My husband and I want to have an Intimate Vow Renewal sometime in spring 2005. In an effort to cut costs, we were thinking about renting a studio room at Boardwalk Villas from a DVC member. I have seen DVC members renting out their points on the DIS boards and on ebay. If we reserve a room through a DVC member, the cost is much lower than if we reserve through Disney. (We have always wanted to stay in a Disney Deluxe hotel.) Also, we would have a microwave/fridge for preparing snacks and small meals, which would save a little money too.
Disney requires that you have a minimum 4-night room reservation at Disney in order to buy the Intimate Vow Renewal package as an add-on. My concern is that Disney would not allow us to have the Intimate Vow Renewal if we reserve our room through a DVC member. Has anyone ever done this? I talked to a DVC member who told me that the reservation would be made in my name, but I am still concerned that Disney will not allow me to have the Intimate Vow Renewal add-on since I am not making the room reservation directly through Disney. I called Disney and the rep seemed confused by my question. We would like to save some money if possible, but we do not want to do anything to jeopardize the Vow Renewal since it is very important to us (we did not have a wedding when we were married.)
Thank you very much for any input!
