My BF and I will be dining at V&A's in a few weeks. This will be a celebration dinner and I was thinking about surprising him with a cake from the GF bakery. I've ordered from them several times and am never disappointed. Having never dined at V&A's, I was wondering if most people would even be able to eat a seperate dessert after a large multi course meal!! Thoughts ??? Also, I know that in the past I have always paid for my specialty cake at the time of dinner and was curious to know if I could pay for it in advance since my BF will be paying for dinner.

Thanks in advance !!

I ate there a couple of weeks ago, and I would have been hard pressed to have a second dessert. I was quite full at the end of the meal.

Worst case scenario, you pack the specialty dessert up "to go" if you are too stuffed to eat it there.

Don't forget the V&A Dinner comes with dessert. Here is a list of the choices from a couple of months ago:

Tanzanian Chocolate Pyramid, Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle and Peruvian Chocolate Ice Cream & Pastry
Berry Gateau with Mango Yogurt Panna Cotta
Caramelized Banana Gateau
Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee
Grand Marnier Souffle
Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle

I think a cake, especially for two people would be overkill! But I'm sure that they would have a way that you can pay for it ahead of time so it is not on the dinner bill.

We are always stuffed by dessert so adding a second dessert would be torture. Besides, it is doubtful that a cake would compare in decadence to the V&A desserts you will have the choice of trying.

Don't bother....the desserts are so wonderful and the dinner so special, you won't need anything else. Be sure to do the wine pairing and save your money for something else special!!

We just ate there a couple of weeks ago. I was so stuffed. It was the best meal that I have ever had. Enjoy!!
