Question about using old park hopper tickets?

Okay, here is my problem: last year we had 5 day park hopper PLUS tickets. We didn't use any of the Pluses so we plan to use them this time. We only went to the parks for 4 days, which should leave me with 1 park day left right? Here is my problem: on one of those days we went to MGM and then took the boat from MGM to Epcot. We did get our hand stamped at MGM, but there was noone at the gates at Epcot (seemed like a back entrance to me) so we just used our cards. Now I am wondering - did that use up our 5th park day? Does anyone know how that works? Are you only allowed to use your card once a day or even if you put your card in the slots numerous times in one day, is it still considered 1 day? PLEASE help!

If I remember from what someone at the gate at Epcot told us last year, the card is read by the date, so even if you put your ticket through the machine thing more than once a day, it is still considered as being used as one day. Does that make sense?

TLC371- wow, thanks for the info. That would be so great. We only need to park hop on one day and for the other 3 days we will only go to one park per day so that would save me a lot of money. I could use our old tickets for the one park hopper day! Thanks so much!
