Question about upgrades!

All this talk about upgrades has me thinking..... in your experience, could someone get upgraded higher than us (GTY 6 Aug 20 repo) that has a lower grade GTY number? Like say, a GTY 7, but ends up getting a cat 5, and we don't get upgraded at all? That would just be a bummer if we paid for at least a 6, then someone who booked a cheaper GTY got bumped higher than us. Don't want to sound whiney, really, I'm just curious!

I am sure anything is possible.....there really is no rhyme or reason....it all depends on supply and demand and what inventory DCL has to work with closer to sailing. Good luck though!!! We are in a Cat 9 on the August repo and of course I always hope for an upgrade though I do like the Cat 9's so I won't be disappointed either way !!!

Yes, it has happened.

But do not assume that because they were in a lower category than you that you paid more.

Right now people booking cat 11 on the Aug repo cruise are paying tons more than I paid for my cat 7 (booked a year ago). So I wouldn't be surprised, or upset, if someone in cat 11 got bumped to a cat 4 instead of me being bumped.
