Question about upgrades at CSR

After reading all the posts about upgrades and how people sometimes get lucky when they check in and get upgraded I had a question...

My BF and I are going to DW in July and staying at CSR (yeah!!!). We requested either Casitas or Cabanas, non-smoking, kingsize bed (I plan on calling the hotel 3 days before we leave to make sure our requests are noted). We will be arriving at the hotel sometime around 11 am, and was wondering if we will be 'early' enough to get an upgrade. Also, they don't by any chance ever upgrade anyone to a junior suite at CSR, do they??? Wishful thinking...

Did you reserve (and are paying for) a K room? I don't even think 5% of the room are king bedded. I wouldn't count on a free upgrade to a K room. Checking in early will give you a better chance of getting the location you want. Upgrades to suite are VERY RARE.

I think I have heard about being upgraded to the junior suites at CSR but I would imagine that is extremely rare. I guess it is possible to get upgraded to a king room if you are just paying for a standard but the king rooms are really limited. If you really need one then I would pay the extra.

I reserved a king bed room through my travel agent (she is a friend of the family so def wouldn't lie to me). Since I reserved one, that means I get one, right?!? This is confusing!

If you reserved king bed then you should get one. That really limits your upgrade possibilities because other than the junior suites the king rooms are as high as you can go. You might want to double check that it is actually a king bed reservation and not just a request. I believe it will state which type on your confirmation sheet.
