Question About Upcoming DLR Trip

This question pertains to scheduling and how to best make use of my 5 day pass. I had planned on doing more than 5 but I really do not (borderline refuse) want to pay the cost to add one day. Im honestly disappointed that there isn't a better deal in place for people that want longer than 5 days but, it is what it is.

So, the question/scenario:

I am staying at VGC Sept 14 - Sept 21. I had 6 days (the 15th - the 20th) planned for being in the parks and booked reservations/shows etc as such. After seeing the cost of adding a day my brain exploded and I need to revise this haha. I have the Oogie Boogie Bash on Thursday the 17th. That gets me into DCA at 3. But Thursday is also one of the only DLR EMH while I am there. So if I only use my party ticket and save my last 5 fay pass for Friday I have to cancel my Cafe Orleans dinner, im confined to DCA the entire day and only starting at 3, I miss out on my DLR EMH (the park I care about more). On the other hand, if I use my last 5 day pass on Thursday in unison with the party ticket I cannot go into the parks at all on Friday and I have to cancel my World of Color/Carthay Circle package. I feel like giving up Friday is the better option and I will still see the OBB version of World of Color so Friday is not a complete loss. I also feel that Thursday will be a better day to be in the parks than Friday but Im not sure. Just wanted to get other people's input on the matter.

We have not found the DL EMH valuable so would have a lazy morning and poke around downtown Disney and just hit DCA on your party day and save your ticket for friday. Do you have hoppers? That would give you the most flexibility to get as much DL in as you want.

That's one thing I was curious about. I have park hoppers and max pass. My only hesitation with Thursday is I miss out on being able to hop between the parks at nights.

During our DL EMH, we’ve usually hit fantasyland rides, and it’s largely been taken up with waiting for Peter Pan. There isn’t anything we’ve done during EMH that we couldn’t have worked in elsewhere. If you have hoppers, you’re in good shape.

And I do still have an EMH on Tuesday morning so im not losing out completely.

EMH is pretty useful but what’s 1 hour against 1 day? (I usually rope drop FL on a day without EMH at DL and use my MM for TL especially Space Mountain (or whatever the overlay is called at the time I visit...)

Sounds like you can make at least one more EMH at DL so you don’t miss out completely. If you care more for DL (I do as well) just rope drop it when EMH is at DCA. Especially if DCA isn’t “that” important to you. You have the whole party night in that park so I think you could sacrifice 1 or to EMHs there for rope dropping DL...
If you do the OBB party I doubt you would do much hopping on that evening anyways...

September 17 is a Tuesday, but does not effect my opinion.
I would use the OBB as a “6th day” and spend that morning relaxing by the pool.

There will likely be Halloween Screams with Fireworks on the 20th (also maybe the 15th), although schedule has not been released. You might try to see this show (and Fantasmic) on Sunday and Friday, and regular WOC on other days

Yep, lack of coffee lol. I meant Sept 19th. But yeah, I agree with you.

I would reschedule Cafe Orleans and just use your party ticket Thursday. You'll burn yourself out with late night shows and early morning rope drops all week. Build some rest into your itinerary so you're not too tired to miss out on the evening entertainment.

If you’re there 5 days, the EMH probably won’t be as necessary to do everything you want to accomplish. So I’d also vote to only use the party ticket on the party day, and save a full theme park day for Friday.

On the party day you can sleep in, or have a character breakfast, or the popular steakhouse 55 breakfast. Visit the hotel pool, take a stroll around the DLH grounds, visit Trader Sam’s, do the Void in DTD, bowl at Splitsville, or book a lunch at DTD. There’s plenty to do during a relaxing morning until you can go into the park in the afternoon. And that’ll leave the entire day on Friday to park hop all day.
