Question about Universal in January

Hello everybody.

My family of 4 will be at Universal IOA on Sunday Jan 22nd then at Universal Studios on Monday Jan 23rd. We will not be staying at one of the hotels on site nor will we be purchasing express passes. Other than going to WWHP first thing on Sunday morning when the gates open, is there any other touring plan I should have? I'm a big planner.

If you are going to be there when the gates open for WWoHP, that's the extent of your touring planning. Unlike Disney, Universal does not require a lot of advanced planning. Check the park map on the website so you can get an idea of where everything is located but that's about it. You can relax and enjoy yourselves.

ok.... If you need to plan more.... Another decision that must be made at the park is....

"Do i go Clockwise or Counter-clockwise around the lake?"

well if you have little kids go to Pteranodon Flyers right after HP as it's the slowest loading ride in Florida. Every tour plan I have seen says this.

And w/o the Express Pass do the headliners first thing.

With it being January, I don't think there will be the need to do headliners first. Overall crowds should be low enough that the wait times will never get too bad. (I've literally walked on to Spidey, MIB, Mummy, Hulk, etc during off-peak times)
