We are visiting california and will be flying home in Business class on a United 767-300. We are seated in the back of the business class section, in the center section, in seats C&H facing backward. The aircraft has 6 First Class seats, then Business Class, then Economy. We are in the last row of the Business Class section. Immediately in front of us is a wall with a galley of some kind on the other side of the wall.

Is anyone familiar with this aircraft? How annoying will it be with this galley right in front of us?

We can move forward in the plane, but if we do, we will not be next to our travel companions.

I can't speak to that plane, but I've sat in the way back of a plane before with the galley in front of me (seems like there were 4-5 rows on our side of plane - in the back - and a galley in front of my row - it was an odd configuration that I hadn't seen before).

Anyway, I thought it was great because it was just like having a bulkhead seat.

Check out seat guru they will give you a diagram of the plane and what seats are good and which ones not so great.

I flew on that type of plane to Germany. I didn't face the galley, I was in about the middle section of business class, both ways I was backwards. Weird takeoff. But it is really awesome, you get a big monitor to watch movies, the seats lay flat if you want (I tried it on my night flight over, I didn't like totally flat), great service, they make sure your drink doesn't go dry. My flight was 8 hour going over and 9 coming back, we got 2 meals. I think the galley would only be an issue if you were trying to sleep.

UA has been notorious lately for swapping aircraft, so maybe you won't even end up flying on this particular aircraft.

You didn't state your destination, so we can't know if you will be trying to sleep during this flight or not. If so, FAs and/or PAX hanging out in the galley can be noisy. In these types of seats, you really can't communicate that much with travel companions anyway, so move if you think the proximity to the galley will bother you. I would try to move to side rather than center seats.
