question about transportation from DD hotels?

how is the transportation to and from the DD hotels? i have a friend looking at staying there and would like to know. thank you all!!

We stayed at a downtown disney hotel (Hotel Royal Plaza) about 2 years ago. The buses weren't as convenient as the Disney system, but they were adequate. It sure beat staying off-site and driving to the parks. The pick-up and drop off points at the parks are different than the disney buses, and require more walking.
