Ok so I am not sure if I am posting in the right place, I am also not sure if anyone is going to be able to answer my question. Anyways here it goes, lol...I was talking with my MIL tonight and she was saying how when we go back to Disney in 2017 she wants to come with us. So I was thinking no problem Bc she has a timeshare with interval international and she said she would just pay OOP for her meals. She just wants to be there with us on the trip. Anyways we got to talking and then she was starting to say how cool it would be to be able to stay on Disney property. So I started showing her the value resorts Bc I have my heart set on going to poly next year and we can't afford 2 rooms at the poly and plus she doesn't want to pay for the extra room at the poly. Anyways then we started thinking and started wondering if interval international can be exchanged for DVC, Bc if we did it that way we could get a 2 bedroom and all stay at the same resort. I started looking into it and was only able to find 4 DVC properties with interval international. I guess my question is has anyone ever done this type of exchange for 1 of the monorail resorts? I have my heart set on Poly but I know pigs will prolly fly before we could get into the Bungalows lol...but if I had to settle for bay lake tower or grand Floridian villas I think I would be ok with that if it meant staying in a 2 bedroom suite lol. Anyways any info anyone could give me on this topic would be awesome! Thanks!

I would say no on getting a monorail resort. No point in giving you unrealistic expectations. But you might be able to get a trade into SSR, and have a lovely time. And save the $$$$$ you were going to spend on Poly room for your next trip when MIL is not with you. You can have a wonderful trip without being on the monorail, and that money will be great for your next trip. :flower1:

Thanks for everyone's input! Yeah when looking on II I saw Boardwalk, old key west, Saratoga springs, and wilderness lodge. Wilderness lodge is nice and they have a boat into the magic kingdom area right? Not sure if we can get any of these though but if I had to choose between those 4 I would probably pick wilderness lodge but who knows! We will see what she can get when she calls II. This is all new to me Bc we usually just pay and stay at the monorail resorts which we might end up doing anyways still Bc I really have my heart set on poly, but if she can exchange her timeshare for even a studio inside Disney if she for some reason can get a 2 bedroom that's fine with me too. At this point it's a wait and see what happens...but she is super excited about it so we shall see lol

DVC doesn't trade with II any more.

Those might have been the only ones available when II was still trading with DVC. They did trade with DVC maybe five or six years ago (maybe more), but it's been RCI for quite a while now.

Wilderness Lodge is nice when it's not under construction. So there's that. I suppose if II trade is possible you may not have a lot of room to be finicky, though.

DVC only trade with RCI. There are some very nice off-site Marriotts that trade with II.

Yup. Curious where you're seeing any DVC on II. Hasn't been an option in years. As all the PPs said, RCI only.

Must be an old printed directory. They don't appear in the online one.

I am not sure I am not really familiar with the whole timeshare thing. My MIL told me that she heard she could exchange it through II through an email or something she said. I thought as well that Disney was RCI bc I remember when I looked into buying a timeshare from Disney it was RCI. Anyways she told me that she thinks she can do it so I told her go a head and try, no harm in asking, but in the mean time I googled II & Disney and thats where I was seeing those 4 resorts. But when I went on the actual site and searched that way they don't come up, so I don't know. She said she was going to call II next week to see about it. She said it would be cool to stay in Disney, so I don't know maybe she will stay at 1 of the value resorts for a few days and then switch over to her time share if she can't get the Disney timeshare. Her biggest concern is if she doesn't stay inside of Disney then getting to the parks will be the issue. We drive down to disney so she would drive with us but she will want to meet us in the parks after breakfast, so I wonder if most of the resorts have shuttles. Once she gets inside Disney its no prob she can ride with us or take the Disney transport with us to get where we are going. This trip is definitely going to need a little more planning than I have done before, LOL

OP: She can't get a Disney resort via II, no matter what. You don't have to be the one to tell her, of course, but you should know this so that you don't get your hopes up.

If she can exchange via RCI (some resorts can exchange in both systems; I own a couple) she has a chance at a 1BR, mostly likely at SSR, but a 2BR at the Orlando DVCs is effectively impossible at this time. So, you may as well go with plan B.
