I have a ten day ticket that was extended due to Covid that I am no longer able to use before it’s expiration. Does anyone know if Disney World is currently offering refunds for tickets that cannot be used?

Unused standard theme park tickets including those that passed their hard expiration dates (usually a December 31) can be traded in towards the purchase of new tickets. One old ticket per new ticket.

I think that promotional tickets like Youth Educational, After 2, Stars & Stripes and UK14 unlimited are not included.

This isn’t past it’s expiration, but was extended due to Covid to a September 26, 2021 expiration.

I was able to get the value of a ticket returned as a gift card. Not sure if that is helpful for your circumstances.

I know I won’t be able to use it because of other travel plans but that tells me they are trying to work with people right now at least.

There have been reports of folks receiving ticket refunds - and I think it's exactly the type of situation you have. WDW is trying to work with people. So I think it's definitely worth a call to ask for a refund, explaining that you are unable to visit before September. At worst, the value will be retained as credit towards a future ticket, but I understand your preference for a refund at this time.

Just pointing out the bolded is not accurate. Most tickets are date-based, with a specified "start date" and the expiration date corresponds to that start date as well as the number of entries.

I have a lot of conflicts with this year, and mine did happen to fall under that September 26th expiration(which I will actually be in Europe or North Africa at that time). I will give them a call and see what I can do. Thanks for your input.
