Question about the web-based interview

Hey guys. So last year, I applied for Spring 2011. I'm pretty sure it was mid-September when I somehow failed the web-based interview. At the time, I didn't even know you could fail it. Lol. Needless to say, I was quite upset.

I guess my question is, when I go to take the WB interview again, what should I make sure to do differently? More decisive answers? If any of you have failed it at first, then went back and passed, what did you do change?

Anyway, thanks for the help!

.... lot of people will tell you to tell the truth about yourself... and thats partially true.... BUT if we are all 100 percent truthful with ourselves it will be difficult to pass the WBI haha when you do it answer the questions as if you are working at disney currently... What does disney want? they want happy people, who are energetic, always positive, never late, loves to work with groups, loves to be around with people...

If you get to the questions like.... im always positive and you put disagree... even though its honest, i mean after all we cannot be ALWAYS positive... it will probably affect you negatively because afterall this is a computer program grading you not a real person... a real person would understand.

so moral of the story is.... you dont have to lie to get the job... just dont answer the questions based on your personal life... answer them based on how you are on the job.....

REMEMBER:::::: Disney wants positive energetic trustworthy always on time happy people who love working in groups and can easily deal with crappy people on a daily basis...

Thanks so much! Great response. I'll definitely use all of this advice when I decide to interview.

A lot about the web interview, from what I've heard, is making definitive choices. Don't choose "neutral" too often (although I have chosen it both times I've taken it, and have passed both), and tend toward the "strongly agree" or "strongly disagree".

As far as personality-wise, what I recommend is how you think you would be if you were to get the amazing job at Disney that you're applying for. I'm not a happy, interactive person most of the time, but when I'm in Disney, or when I worked for them last year, I was. You can say that you're a realist rather than optimistic, or that sometimes you just need time to yourself. But I think they are looking for how you would act on the job. This doesn't mean that if you're in school or something, you're the first to offer to help others or encourage people to participate. It just means, are you willing to turn up the magic a few notches and interact positively with Guests? Thinking in those terms, how you would act once you had the job, I think it'll be easier. Good luck!

I definitely agree with the advice about answering the the extremes. I just took mine last night and I answered the vast majority with "strongly disagree/strongly agree" and i got accepted. I did have a few more neutral answers, but probably only 3 or 4. Mainly on ones like "I'm the best worker I know". I don't want to be too cocky! haha. I was very nervous before taking it though because I know people who failed and even though I've done the CP twice, I've never had to take it! It'd be a heck of a note to have done 2 CPs but not get past the web based interview for the alumni program! haha

I read the thread titled "Tips for Web Based Interview" which was last posted in on 12/30 (sorry, it won't let me add a link until I have 10 posts... :confused3) before taking it and it helped explain it a lot. That thread has some links to some really good information and explanations.

I pretty much went by the advice they gave me and it worked out well :)

Good luck!

All of the above are good advice and things that will definitly help you. I wrote a blog post with tips and my insight on taking it. If you would like to check it out (bc I am far to lazy to write it all again, its kinda long) it can be found here

Agree with what everyone has said.

I didn't answer neutral to any of them the last 2 times I've done it and I've passed.. The first time I did it and failed (as did my roommate) because I was like.. "have I been told lately I'm amazing? Mm.. no not lately." (LOL) But it was the truth! I have in my life.. maybe a month or so ago.. "Are you the smartest woman alive? Mm.. I'm average--neutral." So yeah... answer it how YOU would want a Disney cm to act.

Thanks again, guys and gals. Looks like I should definitely be decisive, stay away from answering "neutral" and exaggerate my personality JUST a little bit.

:)

I'll probably do the WBI tomorrow night.

I know I didn't ask the question but thanks for the tips ! I failed my first time on the web interview , so now that I know what they're looking for I should be able to pass this time. So again dankie to the people who posted helpful advice :)

Are you able to do the web interview? I applied in August and failed it still says I have to wait until February 17th. :confused3
