Even though Conan O'Brien has been the host of "The Tonight Show" (and for Jonas Brothers fans, they were on last week) since June 1, and before that Jay Leno was the host of "The Tonight Show" from May 25, 1992 - May 29, 2009 (and that Leno's doing a new primetime show this fall on NBC), but did you ever hear of and / or remember Johnny Carson (aka "the king of late night television"), who hosted "The Tonight Show" for 30 years from October 1, 1962 - May 22, 1992, before Jay Leno took over? If so, did you think Carson was funny? And did you have any memories watching "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson"? Because even though I was only 1 when Johnny Carson retired from "The Tonight Show" on May 22, 1992 (I was born on February 1, 1991), my grandpa has "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" VHS tapes that were Carson's favorite moments from 30 years of "The Tonight Show". And sadly, Johnny Carson died on January 23, 2005, and his sidekick and announcer, Ed McMahon, died this summer, on June 23, 2009.
