We are going to be in Disney in a few months and my DD has a question for anyone who has oredered sushi at Yakitori House. Her BFF is Japanese and her family owned a restaurant that my DD worked at. She loves authentic Japanese sushi. This has no "spicy mayonnaise" as a component of any of the sushi. Obviously her question is, "Does Yakitori House serve Americanized sushi or authentic Japanese sushi?" I never touch it and therefore have no clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated because that is the one thing she is looking foreward to having. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure about it. I don't think she'll be happy as we aren't going to Wolfgang Pucks. She has been wanting good sushi ever since her friends restaurant closed.

Americanized. Sorry.

Ouch, that's really disappointing to hear. I love authentic sushi. We have a great authentic Japanese restaurant where we live. I think I've tried it all but do not like the Americanized stuff.

I bet... if you could look at the menu online ahead of time, you could ask if your order could be modified. You might want to contact the restaurant and see what their policy is about that -- but it's worth a shot.

If she wants the good stuff, I'd recommend Kimono's at the Swan, which is a lot easier to get to from Epcot than Wolfgang Puck's. The only drawback is that they are only open around dinnertime. I'm not sure the exact time, but I'd say you'd be safe going there around 5pm. They become a karaoke bar a couple hours later than that.

But I went early, avoided the karaoke, and thought the sushi was very good.

Yakitori House is not good by a long shot by comparison to Kimono's. Calling it "supermarket sushi" is a fair estimate.
