Ok, I am seriously one of the biggest chickens on the face of the planet when it comes to rides.

Are the "drops" really that bad, or does it seem worse since it's dark and you can't see where you're going? :lmao:

Is there a Disney ride you could compare it to as far as that?

The biggest drop is only 26 feet. They're over quick and aren't "bad." Evil, maybe--the Mummy's curse and all.

As far as comparison, Space Mountain/Expedition Everest.

I don't think it was any worse than space mountain the change of direction can be disorientating but the show is great!

Drop wise I am thinking more BTM railroad.

My DH is one of the biggest scaredy cat that Iever seen. But he will ride The Mummy 20times aday if he could. All the other coasters @ IOA or DW he just waites for me w/a cold one.

I'm a huge ride chicken and hate roller coasters. Having said that I've ridden The Mummy and really didn't think it was bad at all. I'll ride it once a day while we're there.

Yay, I'm glad to hear it's not bad. I was really looking forward to it, but was a little bit nervous. :thumbsup2

haha, Yes - I think so. If it scares me I can just hunt you guys down :lmao:

Ack. It is really short. If you're scared it won't last long. If you are still traumatized simply go and ride Men in Black to wipe your memory clean. Universal is happy to provide that service.

I can't handle going backwards (even a little bit) or going in circles (a la tilt-a-whirl or teacups). Does this ride have any of those?

Thanks, Karen

Yes...the ride goes backward for all of a couple seconds. Is that too much for you?

The answer is... yes. I stupidly tried Everest and my poor family had to sit with me for 15 minutes afterwards as I tried not to toss my cookies!

Oh no...that's NOT good! Have you thought about Dramamine or something for motion sickness?

The backwards part in Mummy is nothing like the backwards part in Everest. In Mummy, you are just backing up to get into the turntable to turn your vehicle around. You probably only move about 20 feet. They make you think for a second that you will be dropping backwards, but you don't.

Thanks for the suggestion. The only place Dramamine works for me is getting on a boat. It can go up, down, and around most corners on coasters -- but not upside down, in numerous circles, or backwards.

My inner ear is a cruel mistress!

I have pretty bad motion sickness from a severe mastoid infection when I was a kid. I cannot ride on Hulk, DD, etc. without having to sit for at least 30-60 minutes afterward. BUT, I can ride Mummy with no problems. On the Passholder Preview Night, I rode it at least 6 times in one evening and it did not affect me at all.

That is really weird. ROTM might be the "softest" at of all the coasters, but it still jerks you around some.

Thats good though that you can enjoy one great ride over and over again.:thumbsup2

I can get motion sickness backing out of my driveway too fast and I LOVE the mummy ride!!:rotfl2:

I do not like Expedition Everest as it send you backwards really, really fast, and in the dark. That one bothered me enough that I won't be doing it again.

That said, it's been four years since I've ridden the Mummy Ride and we are leaving here in 10 days to do US and the thing I'm most excited about is riding the Mummy Ride again!!! I can't wait!! When we were there last time, I couldn't believe how much I loved it!!! Whenever anyone mentions going to US I tell them they HAVE to try Mummy!!1

So coming from a motion sickness pro - you will be fine! Try it please!!:thumbsup2
