Question about the Mr. Potato Head pieces

OMGosh! I'm so glad they are at DL! I was in WDW in Epcot and I saw them and hemmed and hawed over buying them. I didn't and I totally regret it. I'm totally buying them in DL when we go for my bday in july. *wiggles* i can't wait!

So is the BIG head just a "holder/container?" Or do all the parts fit him as well?? I've never seen the "big guy" so I'm not sure what his purpose is?? How large is he??

The big head is a container/holder, but the face on him are pieces that come off/go on. So he is also a great big potato head. and the other potato head pieces will fit on him as well. He is about 13 inches tall.

I got 44 pieces in DS's box DH got 40 in DD's box. They barely closed but the CM said as long as it is somewhat closed it counts. The kids love them. We got quite a bit of the big pieces like dumbo ears/sorcerers hat, etc.

Kinda funny, I was telling my Mom about this, and she said that my son (9) is probably getting too old for Mr. Potato head. I told her that I doubt it, not this kind anyway, but if he is I'll always keep it for me no problem!

When we went for Thanksgiving in 2005, we spent a week in Palm Springs with family after our DLR trip. I bought my boys the Darth Taters and DD the Mrs. Potatohead before I left. Then I bought a box of parts, and happily, it was one thing they'd all play together. AND, unlike dollies or barbies, this is something that Papa would play with them, too! So, while it may not be something they "crave" or put on their x-mas list, I think kids of all ages would enjoy them.
On another note, I was pretty disappointed in the selection when I was there. Lots of parts, but nothing matching, or there would be three out of four pieces. But the kids had fun. Gives me a reason to buy more, right?!

how big is the box and do you get to chose what you get or do the ppl just fill a box and you deal with what you get

The boxes are awesome. They are about 7 or 8 inches tall and 5 or 6 inches wide. YOu get to put anything mr. potato head piece you want the box. I have 5 grandchildren that range from 1 years old to 5 years old and they all love them. At WDW the cm's actually help you put things inside other things and there is a huge variety of objects. However I was just at DL and there weren't many items to pick from and there was no help from the cm's (I was the only customer in the store with 4 cm's and none of them helped me). Every trip my dh and I make we buy a box--making sure we get the newer items--for each family (and me too.).
There are some tricks for example:
*don't buy the actual mr. potato head there (get it at target, walmart,)
*if you come accross an item that opens like the suitcase, than put
something like a name badge inside.
*don't buy too many arms, legs, mouths, ears, ect... use the space for
the disney items.
*You don't have to close the box completely just a little bit
They are addicting but so much fun to play with. enoy
P.S.--they also sell (for about five dollars) little boxes of piece sets and
some times those are cool also. We have four granddaughters and one grandson so we have to be careful to get both princess and pirate items LOL

well my son is strang he likes princes things and pirets..he loves his female action figuers and his male..some say its bad i say its good he dosnet think anything diffrent between man and women.. he loves wands he actely wanted one at dinstist in stead of a car lol
