A lot of you recommended this movie as being a really good horror movie the other day. Well we went yesterday to get some movies and I looked at it and without doing the math its a really long movie isn't it. We passed on it this time because of how long it looked. Is it over 2 hours? Does it keep you entertained that long??

We ended up with The Sweetest Thing as a comedy and then John got something or other and we got 13 Ghosts but haven't watched any of them yet. I was just curious about Rose Red because it does look like a good movie.

Well I watched it as a mini sieries on Tv sooo I had to remember to put it on.
I found it interesting and while it may have not been frightening, the story or plot line was kind of intriguing. There were "hoaky" parts. (Is that even a word?)
Anway if you are a Stephen King fan then you may want to watch it for that.
If he didn't direct it I probably would not have taken the time to watch.

Definatly Hokey.....
You ever notice that most Stephen King movies turn out to be Hokey B movies? What's with that? He's brilliant, but he allows some major butchering when it comes to his books being made into movies (exceptions off the top of my head being The Shining & Carrie)

It was OK - I would do it in pieces, like they did on TV - I think it's like 4-5 hours, right?. The girl lead was just absolutely awful.....

It was a bit long. I thought they could have left a few things out and put in some key parts that were in the book. I read the book it was GREAT.

I saw it when they broadcasted it as a miniseries. I think it's 6 or 8hrs long

And it was very hokey

The movie is 254 minutes long.

I don't think this is from a book, I think Stephen King just wrote it as a screen play.

Yes, Stephen King wrote the screenplay from the book "The Dairy of Ellen Rimbaugher (sp)"
