From what I have read online seems like the Kindle would be a great Christmas present for my kids. The one thing I have not been able to find out is if 1 child orders a book & the other one wants to read it on their Kindle can the books be shared? My 2 younger ones read alot of the same series. Thanks!

Can I share content with other Kindles?

Books can be shared between Kindles, Kindle for PC, or iPhones that are registered to the same account. There may be limits on the number of devices (usually six) that can simultaneously use a single book. Subscriptions to newspapers or periodicals cannot be shared on multiple devices. If you purchased a Kindle (Latest Generation), you can re-download books wirelessly for free, anytime, to your Kindles. We even back up your last page read and annotations, so when you re-download your books you can pick up where you left off with all of your notes still in place.

You can share an Amazon account with 5 (I think, might be more) devices. That includes PCs, Iphones, Touches, multiple Kindles etc.

The number of devices that can share an account has been increased; I don't think there is a limit on that anymore. I called Amazon to ask a different question a couple of weeks ago, and remembered to ask about that; with all the apps out there for different devices, they basically had to left that limit. The only thing the lady told me was that if several devices were being used to read the same book simultaneously, there could be confusion about who was reading which page.

I haven't used my phone or computer to read in a while but I was always asked if I wanted to go the location where the last device used had left off. So I don't think there should be any confusion.
