Never been to HHN before, but we have a day with nothing planned during our October trip and we were considering going.

Now, I'm not a huge haunted house freak, don't get me wrong I love horror movies, but I really hate confined tiny hallways and pitch blackness.
We do Halloweekends at Cedar Point at least twice a year and I'm ok with those, but I'm also expecting HHN to be a lot more intense.

My only main concern?
Do the houses have a lot of those tiny winding walkways, or are things a little more opened up? Seems like such a stupid thing to ask considering there are plenty of people in there ready to scare the daylights out of you, and all I'm sitting here worried about are how wide the hallways are.:rotfl2:

Thanks in advance vets of HHN. :goodvibes

From memory, they're mostly narrow corridors with people jumping out at and scaring you. The claustrophobic environment makes loads of people scared, that's probably why they do it. I don't like being enclosed either, but I don't remember it bothering me that much! Was more concerned about the next zombie that was going to jump out at me!

HHN is usually pretty confined. They have some houses that are not, and in those areas expect scares from all directions. HOS, I have found, is not the conga line (people constantly walking through in a steady line). And some of the houses are more open....of course they are not as intense.

I love the two level houses like Castle Vampyr (2004) and the one last year that revisited our childhood fears (I can't remember the name) but those get really backed up because of the stairs.

Thanks for all the replies.

The one thing that really bugs me about the "conga line" as someone put it, houses, is the traffic jam of a ton of people. The only time it really kills me is when people are right on top of me pushing, when there is nowhere I can move. Then I start to panic about the "what ifs": what if there's a fire?
My mind is my worst enemy.

Either way I'm sure my husband to be will find a way to get me inside of them, and I'm sure I'll have a blast.
Just good to have a idea of what to expect.
