Ok, I am new here and have never camped at the Fort before. We are seriously thinking of staying at the Fort in FIL's camper, but..... do you get the same benefits staying at the Fort as you do in the resort hotels? Like, are you able to use the early park hours/ late park hours? What are some of the differences from the resorts and The Fort? I know this question has probably been answered millions of times, but as I said, I just joined today and am trying to find answers so I can start planning my family's vacation asap. Thank you in advance........Stephanie

Except for some dining options and non themed pools the benefits park wise are no different. IMHO the benefits of the FW resort itself with all that it offers especially for a family far outweighs that of any other WDW resort.

Yep, the Fort has the exact same benefits as all other resorts. And since every restaraunt on Disney property is open to all guests, I don't find the limited dining options at the Fort a problem

What thy said. There are actually some benefits to staying at the fort, such as the campfire and movie and Chip and Dale always show up. It's a great place to stay!

I agree and what I was referring to was mainly the free dining and the bounce back offers that are not available for the CS, but might be for the cabins.

That is so good to hear! I am really excited about planning this vacation....not sure when yet but with the help of this forum, I know I will be able to make it a trip to remember! The people here are wonderful, I'm so glad I came across this site. Thanks for the help, I'm sure it wont be my last question  ..... lol

The Fort is considered a resort. You have access to everything on Disney property. you can go to extra Magic hours with you key to the world. You get keys to the world when you check in at the fort. As stated before there is more to do at the fort than at the other resorts. The fort is like a small town. Always someone out walking, biking or riding golf carts.

Come to the fort and you will always be ready to come back

reservations fill up FAST at the Fort so plan EARLY!!!!! ALso be sure when the time comes to make your dinner reservations you make them at the 180plus date mark if you are doing the DDP or planning to eat at any resorts or parks during your stay...those also book up FAST

We have stayed at almost all of the moderate or value resorts over the years, now our boys dont want to stay anywhere else than FW. You can do all sorts of activities at the Fort or nothing at all, you can be in the middle of all that goes on at WDW or just hang out and get away from all the tourists. IMHO it really is the best of both worlds.
